Eve Center

Towards summer's end in 2002, Cinny Roy, the executive director of Eve Center, faced a decision for her future. With one year left to complete her master's degree for counseling, which path should she take upon completion? Cinny was profoundly aware that the varied walks of women's lives were worth hearing. Many women could help other women with similar concerns but not everyone would ever, or should ever, be a credentialed therapist or social worker. There had to be a way to train women to help each other. As a believer in God, she prayed for guidance.

With God's guidance, September 1st, 2003 she 'declared' as the founding day for the Eve Center. Within two months she received the two sites used to this day. The Silverton/Kenwood site opened its doors in June 2004 and is housed in a suite of rooms at the Fellowship of Jesus Christ Church. The second site opened March 2005 and is provided by Pregnancy Center West, Inc. in Price Hill. The first class of trained peer support volunteers began seeing clients for peer counseling end of June, 2004.

Eve Center currently has over 100 volunteers from a variety of denominations. Eve Center provides faith based counseling in a number of areas in addition to post-abortive healing. A sampling of these areas includes abuse (physical, emotional, sexual, spiritual, rape), anxiety, codependency, fears and phobias, eating issues, and self-esteem to name a few. HEART (Healing and Educating in Abortion Related Trauma) is a program of Eve Center exclusively dedicated to restoring women impacted by their abortions. Please see www.evecenter.org

Mission Statement of Eve Center: Eve Center provides free, faith-based peer counseling by women to women age 15 and above seeking to regain their mental, emotional and spiritual health surrounding a multitude of issues including but not limited to anger, depression, loss, childhood wounds, relationships.
